There are still lots of work to do. One of them is to cut back weeds and bamboos around the front of the house. We put it off till now but decided to take care of it before it becomes too hot.
Ok. I did not take enough pictures to capture the workload that went into clearing… so it does not seem like there is much but that is not really how it was!!!
We got three boys to help or play… 🙂
People would go by and ask what we are going to do with all the bamboos. We said “We want to turn them into charcoal.” So that is our next project.
At the end of the clearing I was sweeping leaves away and thought “I could use this for our toilet.” We have been experimenting with our toilet situation and started using compost toilet. We first tried wood chips but the smell was pretty bad. We then tried ash but that did not help as much. Eventually we tried brown leaves and bingo! This material seems to work the best so far and we are quite happy with the result.
